Meet Tiffany Abentroth

Candidate for United States Congress

Tiffany Abentroth
for U.S. Congress

Ms. Tiffany Abentroth is a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter from Cummings, North Dakota. Ms. Abentroth has deep roots in her community - her family has been farming in Traill County since 1879.

Ms. Abentroth’s great-great grandfather was the first County Commissioner from Bingham Township, and Ms. Abentroth hopes to follow in his civil-service footsteps.  Ms. Abentroth has dedicated her life in service to her country, first in the United States Marine Corps, and then as a United States government contractor.

Ms. Abentroth has an exemplary military record and government contracting career.  A Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps, Ms. Abentroth served as an intelligence analyst in Japan, Iraq, and the United States.  She then served as Marine Security Guard for United States Department of State embassies in Poland, Panama, and Armenia.

Ms. Abentroth entered the Marine Corps Reserves in 2008, and simultaneously began working for a contracting firm under the Department of Defense as an intelligence analyst.  She continued to serve in both capacities, putting her life on the line to protect the country from the ever-present threat of terrorism.  Ms. Abentroth is a survivor of two terrorist attacks in her seven years of service in Iraq and Afghanistan: the first at Camp Bastion by the Taliban in 2012, and the second at Bagram Airfield in 2016.  As in the In-Country Contract Manager for the Identity Intelligence Program in Afghanistan, Ms. Abentroth was able to build a solid rapport with both clients and government officials.  Ms. Abentroth also drew on her extensive leadership skills to sustain her staff’s motivation, despite the long hours, high-stress and dangerous environment, and family separation issues.

Ms. Abentroth is a highly-decorated Marine, continually earning the commendation and respect of her superiors and peers in her more than five years of active duty and reserve service.   She has received numerous letters of commendation and appreciation from ambassadors and other diplomats, the Diplomatic Security Service, and from both the Army and Marine Corps for her work as a government contractor.  Ms. Abentroth has proven her dedication to hard work and duty, and is committed to carrying these principles into office.

Ms. Abentroth has a long record of volunteer service despite her many years abroad, beginning at an early age when she became the youngest member of the local branch of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Ms. Abentroth is a recipient of the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and was involved in numerous volunteer service projects.  She also volunteered as an Assistant Basketball Coach for middle school girls at the American School of Warsaw while stationed in Poland, as well as at the International School of Yerevan while stationed in Armenia.  She mentored potential future Marines at a Recruiting Station Mini-Boot Camp while on leave in Minnesota.  Most recently, she participated in Wreaths Across America, placing wreaths on the graves of fallen service members.  Ms. Abentroth is a member of the Women Marines Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.

Ms. Abentroth is accustomed to sacrifice, and intends to continue to make sacrifices in service of her country and constituents.  She brings a fresh perspective to politics, despite being a newcomer to the political arena.  She pledges to her constituents that she will bring transparency, integrity, and dedication to her position as a United States Congresswoman.  Ms. Abentroth will continue to bring the same work ethic, leadership, and trustworthiness to politics that she successfully brought to her military and government service careers.
